Installing the IRMA 3270 PCI adapter for use with Attachmate's EXTRA!
=====================================================================

The following general steps are required to properly setup the adapter
for use with Attachmate's 32-bit EXTRA! product. These steps are fully
detailed in the IRMA 3270 PCI Adapter Installation Guide, which is available
to view or print from this CD in Adobe .PDF format.

  1. Turn off power to your PC, and remove the power cord.

  2. Install the adapter in a free PCI slot in your system.

  3. Connect the adapter to a coax controller.

  4. Re-start your system and Windows. On Windows 95, 98, and Windows 2000
systems, the Add New Hardware wizard will detect the IRMA 3270 PCI adapter
     as a Network Controller.

  5. Insert the IRMA 3270 PCI adapter Installation CD in you CD-ROM drive.
When prompted by Windows, enter the drive letter for your CD-ROM. Windows
     will finish installing the adapter.

  6. Install Attachmate's EXTRA!. Refer to the EXTRA! documentation for details.

NOTE: You must complete the EXTRA! installation prior to installing the diagnostic
program. The installation for the diagnostic program will detect your
version of EXTRA! and copy any updated files necessary to enable your
IRMA 3270 PCI adapter to work properly with EXTRA!.

  7. Insert the IRMA 3270 PCI adapter Installation CD in you CD-ROM drive. Click
on Install Software. Install the diagnostic and configuration program, IrmaPciDiag.

  8. Run the diagnostic program.

  9. On Windows NT or Windows 2000 systems, the diagnostic will check to see if EXTRA! is
configured to use the IRMA 3270 PCI adapter. If not, the diagnostic will offer to do
     this configuation for you.

  10. When the program has loaded and detected your adapter(s), press F9 to run all
diagnostic tests. As part of the default test selection, the diagnostic program
will automatically attempt to detect an active connection to a coax controller using
any of the possible connection types (Coax, RJ-11, or RJ-11 Inverted). If the active
connection test is successful, the diagnostic program will configure EXTRA! to use
      this setting.

  11. On Windows 95 or 98 systems, you may be prompted to re-start your system when you
exit the diagnostic. If your connection type has changed, you must re-start your system
      before attempting to use EXTRA!.
